Food is just something we do, but how much do each of us really know about nutrition and what a ‘healthy’ or ‘balanced’ diet is? With all the fad, exclusionary, weight-loss focused diets saturating our culture I think it’s easy to forget we may be less informed about what our bodies and brains need for all of its functions.
Personally, I was quite ignorant to my ignorance until I started educating myself in my 20s for the sake of my physical and mental health. Doesn’t stop me from eating my entree of 2 fruit, 5 veg with a main course of 12 Krispy Kremes, though… 😐
